Strategic Dialogue to Strengthen Kenya's MICE Ecosystem
Encore Hotel Nakuru to host the inaugural MICE Investors & Stakeholders Round Table on 7 August 2026
On 7 August 2026, the Africa MICE Summit (AMS) in partnership with the Encore Hotel Nakuru will host the MICE Investors & Stakeholders Round Table – Nakuru Edition.
This Edition will convene leaders from government, tourism, hospitality, academia, associations and the private sector to explore practical solutions for strengthening Kenya's MICE ecosystem and positioning the country as a globally competitive business events destination.
As a strategic dialogue platform for government, industry and investors, the round table presents a platform to exchange ideas, build strategic partnerships and identify opportunities that will strengthen destination competitiveness, attract investment and accelerate sustainable growth across the continent.
The Africa MICE Investors & Stakeholders Round Table was established as a strategic platform to foster practical dialogue, strengthen partnerships and develop actionable recommendations that will accelerate the growth of the MICE industry in Kenya and across Africa.
The Nakuru edition follows the successful inaugural Round Table held in Nairobi, where senior government officials, destination marketers, hospitality leaders, investors, technology innovators and industry stakeholders convened to examine the opportunities and challenges shaping Kenya's business events ecosystem.
As the conversation moves to Nakuru, the focus expands to highlight the role of regional destinations in diversifying Kenya's meetings and conferences landscape. While Nairobi has long been recognized as the country's primary conference destination, emerging cities such as Nakuru present significant opportunities for business events through quality hospitality infrastructure, improved accessibility and unique visitor experiences.

Hosting the Round Table at Encore Hotel is therefore both strategic and symbolic. For The Encore Hotel, this collaboration reflects a commitment to positioning #DestinationNakuru as a premier destination for world-class meetings and conventions. Purpose-built for exceptional events, The Encore offers the infrastructure, hospitality and destination experiences that make business gatherings truly memorable.
The recommendations emerging from the discussions will feed into the Africa MICE Summit & Awards 2026, taking place on 1–2 October 2026 at the Tembo International Convention Centre in Mombasa, Kenya, under the theme "Building Africa's MICE Ecosystem for Trade, Investment and Innovation."
The Summit will bring together delegates from across Africa and beyond to explore investment opportunities, destination development, innovation, policy, sustainability and strategic partnerships that will shape the future of business events on the continent.
