Angola Convention Bureau has officially launched operations, marking a significant milestone in Angola's tourism and business events sector and reinforcing the country's ambition to position itself as a leading Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) destination in Africa.
The launch event, held at Talatona Convention Centre, brought together senior government officials, tourism stakeholders, institutional partners, hospitality players, and international industry experts in what is being viewed as a defining moment for Angola's business events landscape.
The occasion was further elevated by the participation of Senthil Gopinath, alongside strong government representation including José de Lima Massano, Márcio de Jesus Lopes Daniel, Augusto Laurindo Kalikemala, and leadership from Luanda Province.
Operating under the Meet Angola brand, the new convention bureau is expected to play a central role in marketing Angola as a competitive destination for international conferences, exhibitions, corporate meetings, and association events.
The launch reflects a broader trend across Africa, where destinations are increasingly investing in convention bureaus, conference infrastructure, and destination branding to compete within the global MICE market. Convention bureaus play a critical role in destination marketing, bid support, stakeholder coordination, and attracting high-value international events that generate tourism revenue, investment, and employment opportunities.
